A study on the level of NLRP3 inflammasome in patients with premature rupture of membranes

Abstract Objective In this study, we investigated the levels of interleukin‐1β (IL‐1β), IL‐18, and NOD‐like receptor pyrin domain‐containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in patients with premature rupture membranes (PROMs). Methods We selected 60 pregnant women at Fourth Hospital Baotou between January 2019 July 2021. These were divided into three distinct groups: preterm PROM group 20 cases, term (TPROM) a control cases consisting normal full‐term pregnancies without PROM. Peripheral blood was collected from all participants. Using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay, IL‐1 IL‐18 plasma assessed. Additionally, proportions NLRP3, apoptosis‐associated speck‐like protein (ASC), caspase‐1‐positive macrophages also evaluated. Results The ratios ASC, IL‐1β, concentrations, along presence macrophages, notably greater groups comparison ( p < .05). TPROM group, IL‐1β found to be lower than Conclusion concentrations as well elevated compared group. This suggests potential correlation excessive activation NLRP3 development
